SOR CORP Full Range Multiphase Flow Meter (FR-MPFM)
The SOR CORP FR-MPFM is an advanced multiphase flow meter designed to accurately measure oil, water, and gas in complex production streams. It combines a gas/liquid two-phase flow meter with a three-phase water cut meter to deliver precise flow and composition data for industrial and oilfield applications.
How It Works
The gas and liquid flow rates are measured by the two-phase flow meter, which integrates a venturi section and a single gamma meter. Downstream, the water-to-liquid ratio (WLR) is determined using a dual-energy gamma water cut meter, positioned after a flow conditioner.
By combining these independent measurements, the system calculates phase fractions and derives the net oil flow rate from the gross liquid flow and water cut.
Enhanced Accuracy
In high gas volume fraction (GVF) or slugging conditions, WLR measurement can be less accurate. To address this, the FR-MPFM includes an upstream flow conditioner that smooths the multiphase stream, mitigating slugging and stabilizing GVF. This design ensures water cut measurement accuracy within ±2% absolute across the meter’s operating range.
